The Simple Launch is Here!

We are happy to announce that the Simple Launch is now live for both the joint Southern California Edison (SCE) and Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas®) program and the SoCalGas Only program!

  • Fewer pre-retrofit documents to upload into Vision - we've eliminated the Reservation Form entirely!
  • Less time spent on pre-retrofit sections of the Application and CAZ forms. You can now start construction faster than ever.
  • Enjoy decreased cycle time for the Confirmation of Incentive Reservation - another way to get to construction faster and keep your customers happier.
  • A significant reduction in onsite pre-verification sampling rates means you and your customers may be able to scratch an additional appointment off the list.
  • Say goodbye to ECON 2 uploads since the information will already be contained in the energy modeling file.

VisionDSM has been updated and is back online, and our new Web App is ready for action. In addition, you'll need to start using our revised Application forms, which are available in the Resources section of the contractor website.

As always, your Account Manager is here for you if you need any assistance or have questions about the new forms and processes. Please send us your feedback about the new simplified process - we want to make Home Upgrade as successful and streamlined for you as possible!

The SIMPLE LAUNCH - Coming March 17!

We've Heard you Loud and Clear!

Based on feedback from Participating Contractors, the ICF, SCE and SoCalGas teams have worked together to simplify several processes that will help cut down on your administrative time and get construction started faster.

  • Fewer pre-retrofit documents to upload into Vision - we're getting rid of the Reservation Form entirely!

  • Less time spent on pre-retrofit sections of the Application and CAZ forms. You'll be able to start construction faster than ever.

We welcome your feedback on the enhanced tools and processes. Our goal is to make this program as streamlined as possible, and to provide a positive participation experience for you and your customers. Your Account Manager is here to help you throughout the transition - reach out with any questions or concerns.

Program Updates

Please be sure to visit the News section of the contractor website for additional details on the items presented below and to stay aware of the latest program updates.

New Home Upgrade Points Structure

Effective February 3, 2014, SCE and SoCalGas implemented a modified point structure for Home Upgrade projects that is consistent with the structure being used by The Energy Network, SoCalGas, and Home Upgrade programs in Northern California. The new point structure will result in higher overall point values, thereby increasing incentive amounts for your Home Upgrade projects.

Thermostatic Control Valves (TCV) & Low Flow Showerheads (LFSH)

In an effort to increase contractor and customer participation, the program will allow manual entry of the TCV deemed therm savings into Energy Pro under the Alternatives Tab as a "Custom" alternative measure. The TCV deemed therm savings amount will be based on the Database for Energy Efficient Resources (DEER) at two therms/year per TCV installed.

SoCalGas Winter Upgrades Extended!

All SoCalGas/municipal projects submitted before April 30, 2014 will receive the full incentive amount, up to $4,500.00.

Variable Speed Pool Pumps

Variable speed pool pumps will be accepted as a new measure for the SCE/SoCalGas Energy Upgrade Advanced Home Upgrade program and are listed on the NEW Incentive Application Form v7.0. The measure will be released in April or May - stay tuned for the official launch date.

Title 24 Standards

Any project that applies for a permit on or after July 1, 2014, will be subject to the 2013 standards. Final program
guidelines and specifications related to the 2013 standards will be determined prior to the next technical training session.

Waht's the Simple Launch? Learn more on March 4!

Tuesday, March 4, 2014

We've heard you loud and clear!

  • There are too many pre-retrofit documents to sign, date and upload into Vision.
  • It takes a long time to complete the pre-retrofit sections of the Application and CAZ forms when all I want to do is start construction
  • It can sometimes be an inconvenience to me and my customer to require onsite pre-verifications.
  • I often wait a long time for the Confirmation of Incentive Reservation which delays the start of construction.
  • Why do I need to upload an ECON 2 file when the information is already contained in the EnergyPro file?

GET READY FOR the SIMPLE LAUNCH - Coming March 17!

Learn more at our Technical Training session, scheduled for Tuesday, March 4 at the Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas®) Energy Resource Center (ERC) in Downey. We'll discuss the Simple Launch, as well as other topics including Title 24 Existing Building Changes.
