Effective July 27, 2013; As part of our continuous efforts to streamline program submittals and be responsive to contractor requests, modifications have been made to the program that would allow LADWP all electric properties to participate in the SoCalGas Energy Upgrade California Home Upgrade Program and receive the full 100% incentive.

As part of our continuous efforts to streamline program submittals and be responsive to contractor requests, modifications have been made to the program that could significantly reduce the time needed to issue approval for construction (COIR). These changes include that a pre-retrofit CAZ test results are no longer required to be submitted during the reservation stage (pre-retrofit) of the project. IMPORTANT – a pre-retrofit CAZ test remains an important program requirement, the program change allows submittal of the pre-retrofit CAZ test results at any time up to and including Application.

RHA Memo 130 - Fuel switching from an electric appliance to a gas appliance/ a gas appliance to an electric appliance/ a propane appliance to an appliance using a natural gas or electricity does not qualify for energy savings in the program.

Program Clairification: Fuel-switching from an electric appliance to a gas appliance or from a gas appliance to an electric appliance or from a propane appliance to an appliance using a natural gas or electricity does not qualify for energy savings in the Energy Upgrade California program.

Contractors are responsible for providing photographic evidence of pre-retrofit attic conditions, all supply and return duct connections including duct to register boot connections sealed, and all Heat Producing Devices being barriered/baffled in accordance with program
requirements.

PM 107G Pre-Retrofit Combustion Safety Submittal. Effective July 1, 2013; The results of the required pre-retrofit CAZ test can be submitted to the program at any time up to an including Application. The requirement to conduct CAZ test has not changed.

Effective July 1, 2013; the results of the required pre-retrofit CAZ test can be submitted to the program at any time up to and including Application. It is important to note that the requirement to conduct a pre-retrofit CAZ test has not been modified in anyway. This change only impacts the timing for submission of the pre-retrofit CAZ test results.
